My True Passion

What do I do?

I help raise money, increase awareness, and improve quality of life for children with Childhood Cancer. I volunteer at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, California and have spent years volunteering at Denver Children’s Hospital. I am a Board Member for the Miracle Party Foundation (a non-profit that puts together amazing parties for children with cancer), and I have recently began launching my own venture called FundtheMiracle.org.

How did I get involved?

After hearing a radio-a-thon on a local Denver radio station, I decided to start volunteering at Denver Children’s Hospital. I was very fortunate to be offered a spot in the Oncology playroom, playing with kids and families affected by childhood cancer. I then witnessed the true horror this community experiences every day…I saw children fight for their lives, some won, and others lost. I became emotionally involved in this cause and haven’t turned back since!

The Miracle Party Foundation provides an annual bash for the patients and families who are fighting childhood cancer. The Miracle Party gives one night for these Miracle Children to celebrate, dance, party and forget about cancer. In its third year, the Miracle Party Foundation has had two successful events helping over one hundred children celebrate and party through a night of singing, dancing, light shows, games, face-painting, and much more. This year the Miracle Party is expanding to 11 states and two countries and growing.
Connecting & Helping Childhood Cancer Patients & Families

I spend time also connecting with families and patients suffering from Childhood Cancer. I do what I can to use my network to grant wishes, help them get resources (food, gifts, etc) and most importantly, improve quality of life.

The picture seen to the left is of me and Isaac Krebs, a 3 1/2 year old cancer patient who lost his battle to leukemia in November of 2009. Myself and a team of individuals helped gather resources for his dying wish trip to Disneyland.

I now try to connect with as many families as possible to help them and build life changing relationships to help them get through to a cure or improve quality of life. I love these families more than anything in this world and consider myself so blessed to work with them.
